Don't be afraid to improvise though... If you just want to have a go without investing in tools and materials, why not have a go at making your own brushes (perhaps cutting down decorating brushes), or using a piece of hardboard or thick cardboard instead of canvas, or using walnut oil instead of liquin. The paints are a little bit more tricky, but ask around. Oil paints can last for years, perhaps a family member or a friend have some you could use? Post your inventions on my Facebook page.
